General Assembly And TACA Board Election Announcement
Dear TACA Members,
Current board’s term will end at the end of this year. A new board will be elected for 2020-2021 term at the General Assembly on December 15th, 2019 at 12:00 pm. We are looking forward to seeing all of our members to exercise thvoting privilege and support TACA’s democratic process in changing its leadership.
In order to facilitate this process, we are looking for motivated members to join TACA board. Those who would like to apply for board membership should send an email message to taca@tacaonline.org with the following information:
- a brief biography
- a cover letter stating what position the applicant wants to assume in TACA’s Board and his/her plans as a prospective board member to take TACA a step forward. The following are the Board positions:
- Officers: President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary
- Directors: Seven (7) Director positions
- applicant’s name, address and phone number
It is important to remind potential applicants,
who would like to become a TACA Board member, that being a board member is a
volunteering role, which comes with responsibilities. Also, anyone who would
like to become a TACA Board member must be a TACA member for at least 1-year.
According to our Bylaws, members in good
standing who have already paid their membership dues have the voting privilege.
Therefore, please refer to www.tacaonline.org/membership to reinstate your membership or become a member
today. Also, to learn more about TACA’s Bylaws and the election process, please
refer to www.tacaonline.org/about-taca.
Finally, please take note of the following
deadlines:
- Sunday, December 1, 2019 – Last day for Board of Directors candidacy application
- Sunday, December 8, 2019 – Final candidates will be announced to all members via email
- Sunday, December 15, 2019 – General
Assembly and Elections will take place at 12 pm at 3845 N. Harlem Ave,
Chicago, IL
